Carpet Cleaning and Drying Time
A professional carpet clean involves using the right equipment with the right composition of cleaning materials depending on the state of your carpets and the type of cleaning it requires. Typically large offices and workspaces conduct a thorough deep steam clean at least once a year or once every 6 months given the high amount of foot traffic on a daily basis. Carpet cleaning and drying is also done in domestic properties to ensure carpets are free from pollutants, bacteria, dust and anything that can cause an allergy. Conducting a regular carpet deep steam clean is great practice for keeping your carpets as fresh as possible and to increase its longevity. So how long does it take to clean carpets and dry them? It depends on a number of factors including the type of cleaning materials required, the area of the room and the type of carpet. As a general rule, a one bedroom standard room space with regular carpet for general maintenance should take approximately 30-45 minutes. This amount of time excludes the call our time, movement of necessary equipment to the location of your property and safe and proper removal of the equipment from your property too. If you’re located in an apartment or building the carpet cleaning and drying professional will need to move the equipment safely and slowly to ensure there is no water leaking or damage to structures within the complex. Typically the entire process can take about 1 hour to include all of these factors.
How Long Does Carpet Cleaning Take?
As a general rule, carpet cleaning for:
- A standard bedroom
- Regular carpet
- General maintenance clean
will take about an hour for the entire process. You will notice a slight smell from the cleaning materials but no need to worry – this will disappear within 1-2 days maximum. If you own pets and they utilise the carpet cleaned area we recommend securing the area to prevent them from inhaling the chemicals and depositing fur into the carpets whilst they are still wet from the cleaning. It’s best to open the window in the room if it is not raining and allow plenty of ventilation with cool air only to allow the carpet to dry effectively.
Carpet cleaning involves using deep steam carpet machinery which extracts the pollutants from the carpet and administers hot water along with the right combination of cleaning materials to wash the carpets effectively. This equipment is required to have a power inlet and will make noise during the process. For a small room the time to clean the carpets should only take 30-40 minutes. During this time the professional deep steam cleaner will use the equipment in even, straight directions over the carpeted area whilst administering the right amount of pressure to ensure proper cleaning and administration of cleaning product. If there are some areas that have been heavily affected by animal stains or food stains, the technician will repeat this process over the damaged area to ensure the stains are properly removed. If there are added stained areas from either food, drinks or animals, it may take about 45 minutes.
How Long Do Carpets Take To Dry After Deep Steam Cleaning?
Following the cleaning process, the carpets will be able to be used right away and there shouldn’t be heavy water saturation to the carpeted area if the job is done effectively. The carpets will feel slightly damp but this will disappear within 1-2 days if the room is properly ventilated by using cool air only. The best part is your carpets have been properly cleaned and you’ll notice the difference straight away. Your carpets will have its integrity back and will feel fresh and safe to use for you and your family. After the deep steam cleaning we recommend leaving the area to dry for at least a few hours before placing furniture back and using the room as usual. It should take 1-2 days for the carpet to fully dry and feel brand new following the carpet wash.
