What to do when your house floods?

First, ensure your safety by checking for electrical hazards and structural damage. Then, call Kleen-Tech immediately for inspection and to start restoration to minimize damage. Remove items from wet areas to aid water extraction and prevent mould. You can assist by removing water with buckets or towels before Kleen-Tech arrives. We will then complete the drying, provide documentation, and handle the remaining restoration, including flooring and insurance claims assistance.

How to dry your home after a flood

Remove all irreparably damaged materials such as collapsed ceilings, or carpets contaminated by sewage or leaking drains.
Install heavy duty water extraction equipment right away to suck out as much surface water as possible as fast as possible. (We have our own truck-mounted generators if your power supply is cut off).
Install as many dehumidifiers and air movers as necessary to dry the area out fully, and as soon as possible. (This process may take up to several days, depending on the amount of flooding and the types of building materials and furnishings affected, e.g. plaster board, timber, concrete, carpet).
When the structure is completely dry and floors and walls have been tested with an electronic moisture detector, we treat for mould and mildew and repair or replace floors, skirting, partitions, tiles, plaster, built in cabinetry and paintwork as required to restore the premises to pre-flood condition or better.

They understood that we are only going to live there temporarily and did a great job house is now painted and looks brand new. They were happy to provide advice how to keep moisture levels down and some things to rectify and house has been mould free and humidity has been controlled. They came out on the same day we contacted them. They had some delays in returning to pick up the drying equipment and finish the repairs, however they went above our expectations to set things right. Clement and his technician, Avishka, could not have been more helpful and professional when our washing machine outlet hose detached and bedroom carpet was flooded.
